Not A Useful As You’d Like

Hello Beautiful Thinkers,

A company called Flyte created this really cool looking clock that uses a magnetized ball to tell the time. The thing is while it looks really cool in concept there is only one magnetized ball, so I’m not sure it is quite as functional as it needs to be, what with clocks normally having at least two hands to track the minutes and hours. Perhaps upon closer inspection, it is more functional than I’m seeing. But either way, you’re here for a writing prompt, so here we go! Write a scene that features something that sacrifices useful features of a device for the sake of a prettier aesthetic. How much does the aesthetic hinder the usefulness? Is it to the point of just being pretty or does it retain some of its functionality?

Keep Dreaming Beautiful Thinkers,

The Boy In The Heart Shades
