Poetic Forms: The Golden Shovel

Hello Beautiful Thinkers,

We’ve come around to the golden shovel again on my list of form poetry. Terrance Hayes created this form with the idea that you take a line from a poem that you admire. Once you’ve picked the perfect line, you use each word in that line as the end word of one of the lines in a poem of your own making. Keep the end words in order as they were in the original poem. The longer the original line you choose is, the longer your poem will be.

Keep Dreaming Beautiful Thinkers,

The Boy In The Heart Shades
