Poetic Forms: Abstract Poems

Hello Beautiful Thinkers,

Abstract poem is a term coined by Edith Sitwell to describe a poem in which the words are chosen for their aural quality rather than specifically for their sense or meaning. So what I take from reading a few of these is that the poem doesn’t even have to make sense in the least as long as it sounds entertaining. Most of these poems use a combination of alliteration and rhyming. This is really a good poetic form to play with sound in general though. Look up a few Abstract poems on google and then take a swing at it. Bonus points if you can write one that actually makes sense.
