Poetic Forms: The Rondeau

Hello Beautiful Thinkers,

The rondeau is comprised of 15 lines split into 3 stanzas. The first stanza is five lines, the second is four lines, and the third is six lines. The first word or phrase from the first line represented as a refrain (R) repeated at the end of the second and third stanzas. And the poem has an A/B rhyme scheme. The break down of the stanzas and rhyme scheme looks like this: A(R), A, B, B, A/ A, A, B, R/ A, A, B, B, A, R. The A and B lines are usually 8 or 10 syllables in length. The refrain is usually 1 to 3 words.
