Misguiding Reputations

Hello Beautiful Thinkers,

Howl’s Moving Castle is full of awesome magical ideas and funny characters. Any fantasy writer that hasn’t watched it yet should definitely check it out. It will inspire you so much. But something a little less genre specific that I want to focus on is the use of reputation in this movie. Howl’s reputation and his actions are completely out of sync. It makes you wonder if he’s actual done those things or if his reputation is completely fabricated. Write a scene where your character encounters someone who doesn’t match up to who their reputation said they would be.

Keep Dreaming Beautiful Thinkers,

The Boy In The Heart Shades
