Telling People What They Want to Hear

Hello Beautiful Thinkers,

The other day I switched over to playing CDs in my car again to save battery on my phone. I’d forgotten how much I like some of the albums that I keep in my car. “Everything is Alright” by Motion City Soundtrack in particular still hasn’t lost its ability to get stuck in my head. The first lines of the song always hooked me because I think that they are such a genuine human interaction. So often people that we aren’t actually close to just want to hear us say everything is okay when they ask how we are. Write a scene that features an interaction like this. While your character is telling the person everything is alright what are they actually thinking and feeling?

Keep Dreaming Beautiful Thinkers,

The Boy In The Heart Shades
