Your Inner Monologue Monster

Hello Beautiful Thinkers,

I’m rearranging my books again today. This is always a slightly dangerous task because every time I catch myself thinking about rereading different books. Now there’s nothing wrong with that except the fact that I have several books waiting in a to be read pile. And that pile won’t get any smaller from me rereading other books. Today I almost started reading Carnet De Voyage by Craig Thompson again. It’s an autobiographical graphic novel that tells the story of him traveling internationally on a promotional tour for one of his other books. My favorite part is the little monster he draws to represent his inner thoughts and less than graceful moments. Today write a character that represents your character’s inner monologue. Let this character be unfiltered in every way. Let it be gross, rude, over sensitive, confusing, and all around representative of all the things your character feels but doesn’t necessarily want others to see or know about him. How does your character interact with the character representing his inner monologue?

Keep Dreaming Beautiful Thinkers,

The Boy In The Heart Shades
