L’appel Du Vide

Hello Beautiful Thinkers,

The French phrase “L’appel Du Vide” which I’ve chosen for the title of today’s prompt means the call of the void. It is most commonly used to describe the feeling that people get to jump when they encounter great heights. It’s not about the urge to die but more the knowledge that you could do it combined with a very dangerous what if moment. While most often used for the edge of a cliff it can really apply to any situation where you know the end result is going to be harmful but you think to yourself “what if” anyway. Have you ever experienced your own version of L’appel Du Vide? If so, write a poem about the experience. If not, write a poem about the concept.

Keep Dreaming Beautiful Thinkers,

The Boy In The Heart Shades
