Short Fiction Online

Hello Beautiful Thinkers,

Charming Elliott JamesThis week I checked out a few cool short stories from Elliott James that tie in to his novel Charming. Two of the stories were released before the novel, which I thought was an interesting way to introduce the world and main character. And if that was the purpose then mission accomplished because the got me curious about reading the book. There are currently four short stories (soon to be five) to go along side the novel but they are only available for e-readers and their overlapping apps. Elliott James isn’t the only author publishing add-ons and tie-ins in this way. This got me thinking, do we call them e-books still or maybe e-novellas or e-shorts? With the short-online-only stories becoming more common do we have or even need a new term for them? I think e-shorts sounds too much like clothing for your Simms. Possibly keeping it simple like calling them e-stories or e-scene or e-fiction? (It’s possible I might be making this more important than it actually is.)

Keep Learning Beautiful Thinkers,
