Wedge Sneakers WTF?

Hello Beautiful Thinkers,

platform sneakersMy life is flashing before my eyes BTs. Not because of some near death experience, unless you count these fashion choices which are slowly killing me.  Seriously though, anyone old enough to remember the Spice Girls from when they first got popular here in the United States probably recognizes this resurfacing trend of platform sneakers.  I first noticed them in Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” and Miley Cyrus’s “We Can’t Stop” videos, but a quick Google image search has them on the feet of tons of people today.  But even weirder than the re-popularizing of the platform sneaker is the wedge sneaker.  I’ve been a little iffy on the idea of wedges since they started getting popular; it’s a very case-by-case bases as to whether I’ll like them with most cases being a big old hell no.  With that said, you could probably imagine how I feel about the wedge sneaker hybrid.  I am not amused BTs.  Maybe because I’m already taller than I’d like to be, or maybe just because they really look ridiculous 97% of the time, but this is one trend I’m glad isn’t unisex.

These shoes make me want to hide under the covers until they go away.
