Hello Beautiful Thinkers,

I had a slacker day today so all I can’t really say is oops. Sorry BTs.

Man of Steel

Hello Beautiful Thinkers,

I’ve always had one little problem with the Superman world: how the hell is Lois Lane even an okay reporter without realizing that Clark Kent and Superman are one in the same?  It would seem that the makers of the newest Superman movie Man of Steel had the same issue with this franchise, because for once, Ms. Lane doesn’t have her head up her ass about this hero’s secret identity.  In fact, she actually uses her reporting skills and tenacity to track down Clark to his home in Kansas before he even starts wearing his red cape.  Way to go Amy Adam’s version of Lois!

Okay, so now that I can put aside my biggest complaint of every previous Superman, let’s talk about how sexy Henry Cavill is.  I know not everyone is thrilled with the choice of actor because he’s the first Superman that isn’t American.  Cavill was born in the UK, but I didn’t hear a British accent when I was watching Man of Steel.  Plus, Cavill has the dark-hair-blue-eyes combo that we’ve all come to look for in the role of Superman/Clark Kent.  Allow me my shallow moment, but any complaints I might have had vanished when there was a shot of him shirtless and on fire in the beginning of the movie.  Now that’s hot, literally on fire. *Fanning myself like I’m in the old south stuck in a corset*

My one big really complaint for this movie comes at the end of the last fight scene. *Spoilers BTs* Superman vs General Zod!  We’re talking two epically powerful aliens battling all over the city.  They even make it into the earth’s orbit and bring down a satellite in their fight, but somehow Lois is able to be right there to watch Superman kill Zod.  Okay, so it’s more like two complaints.  One, how the hell did she get there in time to witness this and attempt to comfort Superman?  And two, to the family that is about to get heat-visioned to death, what the hell are you doing just standing around holding each other?  Escape you idiots!  Superman’s got the guy in a headlock for crying out loud.  But beyond those little moments of skepticism, I think Man of Steel was a good movie, definitely worth seeing BTs.

Pride with Univibe

Hello Beautiful Thinkers,

I’d never heard of Univibe clothing before today, but their series of gay pride graphic tees caught my attention at Macy’s.  The company has created several shirts that feature a rainbow on the bottom left to show support for gay pride.  Other than the rainbow, the shirts all feature a design inspired by gay pride.  I wouldn’t call the designs innovative or original, honestly we’ve seen variations of some of these designs at Hot Topic and Spencer’s Gifts.  Still, it is pretty cool to see gay pride becoming so commonplace that it’s on sale at department stores like Macy’s.  Out of the designs I saw, I’m thinking I might go back for the shirt that had the silhouette of a rooster on the front.  It’ll definitely be a fun option for the next pride event I go to!

Button, Button, Esquivel’s Got the Button!

Hello Beautiful Thinkers,

People never stop amazing me, and Augusto Esquivel has caught my attention this week.  He created sculptures by suspending sewing buttons on string. In case you’re not grasping how awesome that really is, check out the pictures of these brilliant pieces of art.  With the exception of the fire extinguisher, which is still extremely impressive, all of these pieces have a young and whimsical feeling about them.  My favorite is definitely the water and rubber ducky!  I hope you love Esquivel’s work as much as I do.

Battle of the New Singles Part 2!

Hello Beautiful Thinkers,

It’s time for a battle of the singles!  Today’s contestants are “Miss Jackson” by Panic! At the Disco and “Supersoaker” by Kings of Leon.  Panic! At the Disco takes home a win on YouTube as they released a video for their new single last week. Kings of Leon lag behind only releasing the audio for the track on their Vevo channel.  And if the little bars under the popularity section on iTunes are at all accurate, then Panic! is winning there too.  Kings of Leon’s single has eight bars as compared to the twelve Panic! At The Disco have gained for their single. Panic! At the Disco also scores more points with me for past performance (I’ve liked way more Panic! songs than Kings songs).  I think it’s clear who I’m declaring winner of today’s battle: Panic! At the Disco! And for this victory, their video is posted below. Enjoy BTs!

Ecards Leave the Internet

Hello Beautiful Thinkers,

I was at Target today and found some interesting items in the dollar section! The popular ecards, that so many of us love to post just about everywhere, have found their way into Target’s $1 items! Check out some of the fun items you can get covered in blasts of sarcasm.

DIY Drawer Organizer

Hello Beautiful Thinkers,

I got really crafty this weekend and made an organizer for my necklaces! I used plywood and an X-Acto knife but I saw a more simplistic way to do it online. They used duct tape and recycled cardboard boxes. Check out pics of my organizer!

Verbal Sparring

Hello Beautiful Thinker,

It’s time to upgrade from “Yo Momma” jokes. Insults and Comebacks is the perfect way to do it! This book is ready to help you learn to take someone down emotionally with verbal abuse about looks, age, intelligence, and other character flaws. There are also sections for counter attacks and insults coined by celebrities. If you really want to get into the business of insults though view this book as your training wheels. Really the book is very light-hearted and if you can laugh at yourself (because everyone fits one of its catagories) you’re in for a few chuckles.

Hello Beutiful Thinkers,

Check out this short film. It’s only a little over eight minutes but it’s totally worth it and adorable.

I Went Shopping!

Hello Beautiful Thinkers,

Today I’m simply rejoicing in my recent purchases! It’s almost all basic item type stuff but when the price is right a good basic is always worth it.

It’s summer in Florida, which for a lot of us means sleeves can get the hell out of here.

Everything from here down came from H&M! (The shirt above is a super comfy one I found at Target.)

It shows off both my tattoos! Which is nice since until this shopping trip my friend didn’t even know about the second one (Featured in this picture)

Basic white shirt soo tight you can see my nipples. Yes that’s one of the reasons I’m wearing a vest.

The other reason is the vest is new too! Yay!

There are spikes on the shoulders = Instant Love!

Love it so much it gets two pics 🙂
