And Out Of The Ashes Rose Fall Out Boy!

Hello Beautiful Thinkers,

slideI’ve got three words for you: Fall Out Boy! You’ve probably heard their new song, “My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up)” by now.  The video for the song is pretty awesome.  Where else are you going see 2 Chainz use a flamethrower?  If you haven’t seen it yet it’s definitely worth a view or two.  My inner pyro has gotten me to watch it at least 10 times already.  The single made its way onto Fuse’s Top 20 Countdown the very week after their Top 20 team interviewed the band about the end of their hiatus and what’s to come.

artworks-000039924125-p7aqh5-cropThe fiery pile of Fall Out Boy’s past in that video is perfect for the metaphor of the phoenix, one that the band obviously had in mind when they named their new song “The Phoenix,” now available off their upcoming album Save Rock and Roll.  Posted on YouTube last week, the music video for “The Phoenix” picks up at the end of “My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up)” with the opening of the van doors.  It quickly shifts gears to be the prequel instead of the sequel video by using an “Earlier That Week” flash back revealing how the band came to be in the back of the van with their heads covered and hands bound.

While watching the new videos I decided it would be fun to play through all of their old stuff.  I made a little top ten list of their songs that I’m sure I’ll have to burn when the new CD comes out since the a few of those new songs are sure shake up the order.  But till then, here are my top ten favorite Fall Out Boy songs:

1)   “Nobody Puts Baby In the Corner” – From Under The Cork Tree

2)   “Grand Theft Autumn/Where Is Your Boy” – Take This To Your Grave

3)   “Thnks Fr Th Mmrs” – Infinity On High

4)   “Homesick At Space Camp” – Take This To Your Grave

5)   “(Coffee’s For Closers)” – Folie A Duex

6)   “I Don’t Care” – Folie A Duex
